A little about me..and my cakes!

Growing up I never thought, that someday I will fall in love with baking and making cakes... I always loved to cook and enjoyed every tradition around holidays that involved cooking and eating....but never plunged into baking, partially because I do not have a sweet tooth and never craved for cakes and pies!!But something changed, few years ago, I started reading about baking and watching a lot of baking shows on TV, and it amazed me the amount of passion and art that goes into baking a cake..Few years down the road.. I fall in love with baking cakes..Now, I am not one of those person, who came with Grandma's secret recipe and can keep the legacy going.. so I had to go to recipe books and shows.. I tried to bake many different types of cakes, that interested me...and some over and over again! Some are too time consuming and not worth, and some are too easy but are delicious!! Now, I hate following exact recipe (a bit of rebel I am!!) .. so every time I would make some variation, to see if the taste is better or the texture is different, and every time there was a lesson learnt!

So after many lessons learned, I think I can introduce you all to my, two all time favorite cakes that I have been baking for few years. Rum Cake and Wine Cake.Mostly I have baked them repeatedly for my friends, family, co-workers and some of their special occasions.. and it has become their favorite cakes!

Rum Cake
This is a cake for those who really enjoy a bit of alcohol in a cake!! It is one the most moist cake, and is super delicious with deep flavor of dark rum.. followed by a nutty, chewy walnuts and pecans! I make this cake in two flavors.. the traditional vanilla yellow and Chocolate.. Both of them have a it's unique taste! A bit of dark rum and a lot of nuts goes into baking, but it turns into one delicious scrumptious cake when it is dipped in the Rum, butter and sugar glaze!!! making you a CAKEOHOLIC!!!Can be served and paired with any of your favorites.. ice-cream, whipped cream and or coffee!

Wine Cake
This is a simple cake that is perfect for any occasion! A bit of wine & nutmeg goes into baking, that makes this cake so aromatic..during baking and after. The alcohol bakes off and leaves just the flavor.. Is simply irresistible! This cake is very moist and is very light.. no whipped cream, no icing.. Just a dash of powdered sugar finishes it up! Can be served and paired with any of your favorites.. ice-cream, berries, whipped cream and or coffee! If you are in Bay area and would like to order one of the cakes, for holidays or special occasion please email me or you can use the Order form below.
In your email, please let me know the Quantity, Flavor and Date you need it!Each of these cake is served in 9 inch Bundt, and the rum cake can be ordered in original and Chocolate flavor. Each cake would serve about 12 to 14 people
Cheers, Celebrate Life!!!

For my birthday this year, I had placed an order with Vani.. I had ordered two cakes (Rum, and Wine) she arrived on time with a BIG SMILE :-) Everyone at my birthday party loved the cakes! They kept asking who made these CAKES!!!

I highly recommend you to try both CAKES because they are both mouth watering!!! You can’t just have once slice, you will want 2, so I hope you have a sweet tooth when ordering :-)

  10. Vani's magical touch shows in her baked perfections. The rum cake is her master piece. Racheal Ray would spend all her $40 on Vani's rum cakes and eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So am I.
